Roadway Characteristics Inventory

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Roadway Characteristics Inventory has information on all public roads in the State, including:

• Roadway location;
• Classification (freeway, secondary road, arterial, etc.);
• Physical characteristics (two lane, multi-lane, shoulders, etc.);
• Traffic information (volume); and
• Traffic control device inventory.

Additional information is available through the FDOT Unified Roadway Basemap Repository, a project funded by the TRCC, to develop a standard, comprehensive transportation network that could be used throughout the State, and shared across jurisdictional boundaries through multiagency involvement and coordination.
